Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 He plunged the villages 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
