Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known extent. 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
