Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
