O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 But they (who claim to follow you) have torn their unity wide asunder, piece by piece, each group delighting in [but] what they themselves possess [by way of tenets]. 53 So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. 54 Do they think that in giving them wealth and children 55 We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord, 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein. 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 Implore not today; verily ye from Us are not to be succoured. 65 My revelations were recited to you, but you turned your backs 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Have they not pondered the matter, or did that come to them, which did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or did they not recognise their Messenger and so denied him? 69 or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 Or are you asking them for any reward? But the reward of your Lord is the best, for He is the Best of Providers, 72 (Muhammad), you certainly have called them to the right path, 73 and surely they that believe not in the world to come are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. 76 So that when at last We open up the gate of severe punishment on them they will be overwhelmed with despair. 77
