And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 whatever phrase he utters, an observer is present. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape. 19 and [in the end] the trumpet [of resurrection] will be blown: that will be the Day of a warning fulfilled. 20 And every soul came, along with a herder and a witness. 21 You were heedless of this. Now We have removed your veil and so your vision today is sharp. 22 And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; 25 and an idol worshipper. Throw him into severe torment". 26 ۞ His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error. 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 There is no changing of My word, nor am I unjust to My creatures." 29
