Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
