Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
ALL PRAISE is due to God, who has created the heavens and the earth, and brought into being deep darkness as well as light: and yet, those who are bent on denying the truth regard other powers as their Sustainer's equals! 1 He it is Who created you from clay, then He decreed a term; and there is a term named with Him; still you doubt. 2 although He is God in the heavens and on earth, knowing all that you keep secret as well as all that you do openly, and knowing what you deserve. 3 yet every time a sign comes to them from their Lord, they turn away from it. 4 So they have indeed rejected the truth when it came to them; therefore the truth of what they mocked at will shine upon them. 5 See they not how many a generation We destroyed before them, whom We had established in the earth more firmly than We have established you, and We shed on them abundant showers from the sky, and made the rivers flow beneath them. Yet we destroyed them for their sins, and created after them another generation. 6 And if We had sent to you a writing on a paper, then they had touched it with their hands, certainly those who disbelieve would have said: This is nothing but clear enchantment. 7 They have said, "Why has not an angel come to him (Muhammad)?" Had We sent an angel to them, the matter would have inevitably been out of their hands, and they would have been given no more time. 8 Had We appointed an angel, We would have sent him down in the form of a man - and thus We would have caused them the same doubt which they now entertain. 9 Mocked were (many) messengers before thee; but their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked. 10
