And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 nor any loving friend. 101 "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
