The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 The piercing star! 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
