The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
