He it is who sendeth down from the heaven water for you, wherefrom is drinking and wherefrom are trees whereas ye pasture your herds. 10 He causes to grow for you thereby the crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and from all the fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought. 11 And He subjected to you the night and day, and the sun and moon; and the stars are subjected by His command. Surely in that are signs for a people who understand. 12 All that He has created for you on the earth are of different colors. In this there is evidence of the Truth for the people who take heed. 13 And He it is who hath subjected the sea that ye may eat thereout flesh fresh and bring forth therefrom ornaments that ye wear. And thou beholdest ships ploughing therein, and it is in order that ye may seek of His grace, and that haply ye may give thanks. 14 And he has placed firm mountains on earth, lest it sway with you, and rivers and paths, so that you might find your way, 15 And landmarks (signposts, etc. during the day) and by the stars (during the night), they (mankind) guide themselves. 16 Is then the One Who creates like the one who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed? 17 And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. 18 And Allah knoweth that which ye keep secret and that which ye publish. 19 Those you call on besides God cannot create anything. They are themselves created. 20 dead, not alive; and are not aware when they shall be raised. 21
