(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 "So they may understand what I say: 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 And associate him in my affair. 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 and remember You much: 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 when We revealed what was revealed unto thy mother: 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a book, my Lord errs not, nor does He forget; 52 It is He who has made for you the earth as a cradle and threaded roads for you and sends down water from the sky with which We bring forth every kind of plant. 53 Consume them as food or for grazing your cattle. In this there is evidence (of the existence of God) for the people of reason". 54
