۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
