Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? 27 So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. 46
