Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 Thamud, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
