Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 In high empyrean 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
