No! By the moon 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 As a warning unto men, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 running away from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
