The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
