The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
