The Thamud accused the messengers of lies. 141 When their brother Salih said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 142 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you 143 Have fear of God and obey me. 144 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 145 "Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here? 146 among gardens and fountains, 147 sown fields, and palms with slender spathes? 148 and that you will [always be able to] hew dwellings out of the mountains with [the same] great skill?" 149 So be mindful of God and listen to me. 150 And do not obey the bidding of the extravagant, 151 "Who make mischief in the land, and reform not." 152 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 153 Thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! Come, then, forward with a token [of thy mission] if thou art a man of truth!" 154 He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day. 155 Do not touch her with malice so that punishment of a dreadful day seizes you' 156 But they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful, 157 And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 158 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
