Hizb 46

Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
