Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 The revelation of this Book is from God, the mighty and all-wise. 2 Behold, in the heavens as well as on earth there are indeed messages for all who [are willing to] believe. 3 And in the creation of yourselves and of the beasts that He hath scattered over the earth, are signs unto a people who are convinced. 4 and in the alternation of the night and day, in the provision Allah sends down from heaven with which the earth is revived after its death, and in the changing about of the winds, there are signs for people who understand. 5 Those are the signs of God that We recite to thee in truth; in what manner of discourse then, after God and His signs, will they believe? 6 Ruin is for every great slanderer, excessive sinner. 7 He hears God's revelations being recited to him, yet persists in his arrogance as if he had never heard them. Forewarn him of a painful punishment. 8 When he learns about some of Our revelations, he mocks them. Such people will suffer a humiliating torment. 9 Hell is behind them. Their worldly earnings shall not avail them, nor those whom they took as protectors instead of Allah. An awesome chastisement lies in store for them. 10 This is guidance; and (as for) those who disbelieve in the communications of their Lord, they shall have a painful punishment on account of uncleanness. 11
