The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount; 1 By the book inscribed. 2 on fine parchment; 3 The house ever-peopled, 4 And the lofty roof. 5 and the sea swarming, 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 On the Day when they shall be thrust into Hell with a violent thrust (and shall be told): 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is this, then, any feat of magic or are you unable to see? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight. 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do." 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 They will therein snatch from one another a cup; therein will be neither vain babble nor sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 saying, "We were afraid while in the world. 26 But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
