Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Or do they say: 'He is a poet, we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him' 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Quran) if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief. 36 Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or is the Unseen in their keeping, and so they are writing it down? 41 Or are they planning a conspiracy? So the conspiracy will befall only upon the disbelievers. 42 Or have they a god, other than God? Glory be to God, above that which they associate! 43 If they should see a segment falling from the sky, they would say: "It is only a massive cloud." 44 Then let them be (O Muhammad), till they meet their day, in which they will be thunder-stricken, 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. 47 Await the judgement of your Lord, for you are always before Our eyes, and glorify your Lord with praises when you rise, 48 and extol His glory at night, and at the time when the stars retreat. 49
