T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta' Ha' 1 We have not Sent down on thee the Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed. 2 but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: 3 a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens 4 the Merciful willed to the Throne. 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil. 6 And if thou say anything aloud, [He hears it] since, behold, He knows [even] the secret [thoughts of man] as well as all that is yet more hidden [within him]. 7 God: There is no god but He. To Him belong the attributes most beautiful. 8 And did the news of Moosa reach you? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 So when he came near the fire, it was announced, “O Moosa!” 11 Surely I am your Lord, therefore put off your shoes; surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa, 12 "I have chosen thee: listen, then, to the inspiration (sent to thee). 13 Verily I am God; there is no god but I; therefore serve Me, and perform the prayer of My remembrance. 14 The Hour of Resurrection is coming. I have willed to keep the time of its coming hidden so that everyone may be recompensed in accordance with his effort. 15 Therefor, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Moses? 17 He said, “This is my staff; I support myself on it, and I knock down leaves for my sheep with it, and there are other uses for me in it.” 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So Moosa put it down – thereupon it became a fast moving serpent. 20 Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. 21 And press thy hand to thy side, it will come forth white, without hurt, as another sign. 22 So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 24
