When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 He said: my Lord! verily I fear they shall belie me. 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 [Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 Musa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" 26 [Pharaoh] exclaimed: "Behold, [this] your 'apostle' who [claims that he] has been sent unto you is mad indeed! 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 and he drew forth his hand - and lo! it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
