Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 in a lofty garden, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
