T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ O MAN! 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 only as reminder for those who have fear (of disobeying God). 3 it is a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens, 4 The Beneficent Allah is firm in power. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and all that is in between, and all that is beneath the soil. 6 And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 Have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." 10 And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa (Moses)! 11 I am your Lord! Take off your sandals, for you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa. 12 "I have chosen thee: listen, then, to the inspiration (sent to thee). 13 Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance: 14 Indeed, the Hour is coming - I almost conceal it - so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives. 15 So let not him who believeth not therein and followeth his own desire keep thee away therefrom lest thou perish. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Musa! 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 Said He, 'Cast it down, Moses!' 19 So he cast it down, and thereupon it turned into a sliding serpent. 20 The Lord said, "Hold the serpent and do not be afraid; We will bring it back to its original form." 21 "Now place thy hand within thy armpit: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish, as another sign [of Our grace,] 22 That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, 23 And go to Pharaoh now for he has transgressed all bounds." 24
