The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
