Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. 3 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; 4 And that we thought that men and jinn did not utter a lie against Allah: 5 and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; 6 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment). 7 We sought to reach heaven, but found it filled with strong guards and flames -- 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course. 10 And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. 11 We have realized that we could never thwart God on earth and that we would never be able to thwart Him by flight. 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 Some of us are Muslims and some of us have deviated from the Truth. Whoever has embraced Islam has followed the right guidance. 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 And proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that ‘Had they remained upright on the straight path, We would have given them abundant water.’ 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
