Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
