The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 About the great news - 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 The night a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
