The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or orders piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
