The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He. said: My Lord is the Best Knower of that which ye work. 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
