Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 we are they that give glory. 166 And there were those who said, 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
