The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
