Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
