Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 your ideas are confused. 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
