Al-Najm 3 of 3
(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
