Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 Till an appointed term, 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
