Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
