Ask them, "Who can protect them from (the wrath of) the Beneficent God during the night and day?" Yet they are neglectful about their Lord. 42 Do they have some Gods who protect them from Us? Neither can they save themselves nor save their friends from Us. 43 Nay, but Ourselves gave these and their fathers enjoyment of days, until their life had lasted long while upon them. What, do they not see how We come to the land, diminishing it in its extremities? Or are they the victors? 44 Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I warn you only by the Inspiration. But the deaf hear not the call when they are warned. 45 yet if even a breath of your Lord's punishment touched them, they would say, "Woe to us! We were indeed wrongdoers." 46 And We will set up a just balance on the day of resurrection, so no soul shall be dealt with unjustly in the least; and though there be the weight of a grain of mustard seed, (yet) will We bring it, and sufficient are We to take account. 47 Surely We had granted to Moses and Aaron the Criterion (between right and wrong), and Light and Admonition for the good of the God-fearing, 48 Who fear their Lord unseen, while they are of the Hour apprehensive. 49 And this is a blessed Reminder which We have revealed; will you then deny it? 50
