Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
