The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
