Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 The revelation of the Scripture whereof there is no doubt is from the Lord of the Worlds. 2 Or do they say, "He invented it"? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, [O Muhammad], that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you [so] perhaps they will be guided. 3 Allah it is He Who has created the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them in six Days. Then He Istawa (rose over) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). You (mankind) have none, besides Him, as a Wali (protector or helper etc.) or an intercessor. Will you not then remember (or be admonished)? 4 He directs all affairs from heaven to earth. Then all will again ascend to Him on a Day whose length is a thousand years by the way you measure. 5 Such is (He) the knower of the unknown and the known, the mighty and the merciful, 6 Who made all things good which He created, and He began the creation of man from clay; 7 Then He made his offspring from semen of worthless water (male and female sexual discharge). 8 and then He forms him in accordance with what he is meant to be, and breathes into him of His spirit: and [thus, O men,] He endows you with hearing, and sight, and feelings as well as minds: [yet] how seldom are you grateful! 9 But they say: "When we have mingled with the earth, shall we be created anew?" In fact they deny the meeting with their Lord. 10 ۞ Say: "[One day,] the angel of death who has been given charge of you will gather you, and then unto your Sustainer you will be brought back." 11
