۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 In gardens of delight, 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their father going astray 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
