Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
