The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And accepts the best, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
