And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
