a large throng from the ancients, 39 and a multitude of the later people. 40 The Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 41 (they shall live) amid burning winds and boiling water, 42 scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 Surely they had lived before in luxury, 45 And they have been persisting in the heinous offence. 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 And so will our fathers?" 48 Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times, 49 will indeed be gathered together at a fixed time on an appointed Day. 50 "Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!- 51 shall eat the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 filling your bellies with it; 53 And thereon ye will drink of boiling water, 54 Drinking even as the camel drinketh. 55 This is their reception on the Day of Justice. 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 Just consider (the semen) that you emit, 58 Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator? 59 We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, 60 from replacing you by others like yourselves or changing your forms and re-creating you in forms that you know nothing of. 61 And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? 62 Just ponder over what you sow: 63 is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 Have you considered the water that you drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds or We? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 Have you seen the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you that originated its tree, or are We the Originator? 72 We have made it a reminder and an advantage for the wayfarers of the desert. 73 So glorify your Lord, the most supreme. 74

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
